When discussing the hottest, newest, most exciting young talent in the city of Atlanta, GA There’s almost no way that Sydne’s Renee’s name isn’t coming up. When discussing who the most exciting, the most electrifying, creative songwriter in our city rewriting the book on how traditional R&B and urban music is being done, there’s almost no way that Sydne Renee’s name isn’t coming up. Super producer, former Badboy ENT Hitman and music legend Chucky Thompson says, “…She that next.” Mega producer Carlos McKinney says, “I definitely get it. She’s swaggin like crazy on these records.” There’s no other phrase necessary other than Sydne Renee is the absolute truth.
With her latest body of work entitled #ratchetlove, She’s not only addressing the traditional romantic nuance known in R&B, but Sydne’s wordplay and delivery is anew to the game as was Mike Tyson when he first entered the boxing realm . Case & point, “Stop what you’re doing and take a look at this!” With records like “Hunnid Banz”, “Come Over” and “Together forever”, she’s delivering songs with a sound, and a mentality that’s so very foreign to her female contemporaries that they can’t even begin to compete with it. Within three short years of coming into the game, Sydne achieved her first songwriting placement on Atlantic Records’ own Flo-Rida where she penned the hook for his single, "Why You Up in Here" featuring Ludacris and Gucci Man. Her creative writing style has allowed her to collaborate with some of music industry’s hottest producers and artists including Meco, Justice League, Don Cannon, DrummerBoy, Rodney Jerkins, Kandi Burruss, Dirty Money, Black Elvis, Stevie J, Mace, KE on the Track, Young Chop, Nick Cannon, T-Boz, Roscoe Dash, KP, Nitty and many others.
With production from Young Chop, KE on the Track, the Genius Club and Producer Devon to name a few, #ratchetlove takes on an entirely new meaning and a complete play on words. This is a game changer. Sydne Renee’s music is so socially on time for her generation and so sonically urgent that it’s an undeniable body of work from a girl whose career has no limit and SXSW is the perfect stage for it.
It’s not just some records put together. It’s the soundtrack to a lifestyle.
“I know you see me... watch me like TV. I know you see me… wi’tcha lookin’ ass”
