In the past year, the “Learn to Code” movement has garnered lots of attention from media and even the President of the United States.  Within just two years, Bootcamps and online schools teaching web development have popped up across the US.  Join us for a conversation with industry leaders from ThinkfulMakerSquare and Hack Reactor as they discuss why they are passionate about programming, technology, and how their programs are changing education and enriching people's lives.

Panelists are:

Harsh Patel - Co-Founder of MakerSquare. Harsh previously taught with Teach For America, volunteered with Khan Academy, and later started an EdTech company called Portfoliyo. He now helps craft an environment that empowers students to reach their full potential.
Dan Friedman - Co-Founder of Thinkful.  Dan is the co-founder of Thinkful, the online school that uses one-on-one mentorship to help adults learn programming for career advancement. Dan previously worked at RRE Ventures, a VC firm based in New York, and Elm City Labs, a product development studio that works with startups. Dan was a member of the first class of the Thiel Fellowship, and attended Yale before leaving for the fellowship.
Doug Calhoun - Co-Founder at Hack Reactor. Doug currently teaches at Hack Reactor, but previously, was a mentor at Dev Bootcamp, and worked at Survey Monkey and DailyKos.
