Last year, PBS KIDS took on the daunting task of redesigning the brand for the modern media landscape including a complete overhaul of the Webby-award winning PBSKIDS.ORG.
During this process, a small internal team took on the challenges that come with redesigning a site with over 14 million monthly users for multiple platforms (desktop, tablet, phone, etc), transitioning interactive Flash to HTML and presenting content to both preschool non-readers and school age readers while maintaining the experience that kids love.
This case study/discussion will cover the whole process from concept to launch including challenges, compromises and a few moments of brilliance.
