High Fidelity: Console Experiences to Mobile

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

As the mobile audience continues to grow at an exponential rate and App Stores become increasingly cluttered, game companies are challenged to develop games that will stand out against the competition in a crowded market. From movie-licensed titles to console franchises to brand new games built exclusively for mobile, consumers demand high quality experiences that bring them the best entertainment.
Due to this consumer appetite, console-quality mobile experiences are becoming more prevalent. New technology within smartphones and tablets is enabling developers to build 3D games that closely mirror console as well as adapt console game engines specifically for mobile. Learn from seasoned publishers from both the console and mobile gaming world on the evolution of mobile game development, the importance of high fidelity titles in an increasingly cluttered space and what it takes to develop console-quality games for today’s on-the-go gamer.
This SXSW Gaming Session at the Long Center is FREE and open to the public. However SXSW Interactive, Film, Gold and Platinum badges gain priority seating.
