In June 2013, a discussion was had between friends of who we admire in the tech/entrepreneur space. Included in those were the 'usual suspects'–Kevin Rose, Tim Ferriss, etc. Before long, we were lamenting around it being too late to be awesome. A blog post was born we were surprised to learn just how many people were affected by the feeling of 'unaccomplishment' due to a wide variety of confidence-killing factors.
When we dug deeper past the surface of fighting ourselves mentally, we can start to identify unhealthy relationships that have been formed with comparison and perfectionism. Being authentic is important–without it, these poisons can hold us back from creating, connecting, or simply just being. We want to "make a difference", "make our mark", or "be awesome", and the answer is not in "what more we can do", but rather "how can we come alive?".
We must slow down, remove distractions and then – and only then – will we be able to get out of our own way, and "do awesome".
