A collaboration between IDEO, IDEO.org and the Stanford d.school to teach a workshop on design thinking at SXSW. Last year, these same entities teamed up to teach a 4-hour workshop at SXSW. This year we asked, how could we make that workshop more impactful and more immersive?
Enter SXEve. SXSW is launching a new vertical at SXSW 2015 focused on gender equality and social good. SXSW would like to design an experience where attendees are able to give back / contribute to a broader cause while attending SXSW.
As part of this year’s workshop, we are tackling a design challenge around what microvolunteering might look like for SXSW attendees one year from now (SXSW 2015). On Saturday morning, we’ll teach a 4-hour workshop on design thinking. At the end of that session, workshop participants will have created early prototypes of potential microvolunteering experiences.
On Sunday and Monday, workshop participants will be testing and refining their prototypes based upon feedback from SXSW attendees at the conference. On Monday evening, we’ll make a presentation at the launch gala event for SXEve with some early designs for microvolunteering that SXSW will explore for SXEve 2015.These presentations will be held on Monday, March 10, at 4:00pm on Rainey St. located at the Social Good Hub at Bungalow.
